Installation
Quick fitting and
easy removable from the aircraft Bomb rack.
Operation
Ease of operation is
one of the special features of this system. To produce smoke, the
pilot activates the on/off switch and the smoke starts immediately;
the smoke stops by returning the on/off switch to the
off position. The smoke can be
turned on and off as many times as desired until the 10 minute
quantity of smoke oil is exhausted.
Servicing
Servicing the SCSG5-A between operations requires only the addition
of 1/2 gallon of gasoline and 10 gallons of oil to obtain another 10
minutes of smoke operation.
Speed of Operation
The smoke
system has been successfully operated from 65 knots to 0.95 mach
Altitudes
The smoke system has
been operated from sea level to over 30,000 feet. If starting
the smoke higher than 15,000 feet is desired, some special
modifications are required to the stock unit.
